ARContribution by A. Baleno

The Year That Lightning Struck the Beach

Is it water or earth or another resource
like numbers which could make a list, or is
it some subtly different economic force
like a flame demanding we waste transistors?

Even in spaces where nature stays pretty bare,
all that is required is a tiny incision
which cuts through virtually nothing but air
generating value from the rainbow's division.

Being even more transparent than air, the glass
relinks us.  Information infinitely dense is
not needed, just that resolution which can pass
with detail enough to trick human senses.

Who knows what will happen after that surge
shoves us forward like the invisible hand.
It's hard to fathom that which will emerge
from the nations carved on grains of sand.
